Sunscreen Myths

One of the myths about sunscreen is that sunscreens won’t prevent skin cancer – and may even cause it.  Dr. Leffell is quoted in an article published in the Seattle Post Intelligencer as saying “Sunscreens can prevent skin cancer, but they need to be part of an overall protection program.  You also need to stay out of the sun from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., wear protective clothing, and seek shade whenever possible.” Read more in the Seattle Post Intelligencer article [5].
